Wild Rose & Sparrow SS27: An Ode to Proserpine

Unveiled within the ruins of the Musée de Cluny on the penultimate day of Paris Fashion Week (PFW), co-designers Liana and Ariana Dancu explore the myth of Persephone in their Spring/Summer 2027 (SS27) collection, one filled with the enduring themes of beauty, rebirth and the wilderness of hope.
Opening with looks in black lace and evolving to earthen tones, white and pale pastels symbolic of our heroine’s time outside of darkness and movement into the light, we find delicate and romantic creations handmade with lace, crochet, macramé and florals along with cottons and sequined tulle.
And while details of emerging buds and foliage punctuate the closing looks, there is an overlay of weathering found in the collection, symbolic of Proserpine’s journey from darkness into light, and back again.
