“The History of Sound” stars Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor reunited on the red carpet and were joined by co-star Emma Canning and Director Oliver Hermanus at the BFI London Film Festival 2025 headline gala on October 18, 2025.
Also on the red carpet were Screenwriter Ben Shattuck, Composer Oliver Coates, and Producers Thérèsa Ryan and Andrew Kortschak.
About “The History of Sound” — Lionel (Mescal) and David (O’Connor) meet at Boston Conservatory, where they bond over their love of American folk music. Years later, after David serves in the First World War, the pair reunite and travel across the US to record their beloved music. It’s a journey that irrevocably changes their lives.
