[dropcap]W[/dropcap]henever fall comes around, fashion and style enthusiasts around the globe are psyched about the new season, the most fashion-friendly of them all – the weather is moderate so you get away with mixing and matching a few more fashionable items than just your standard ultra-hot weather, summer uniform, and it’s not yet time for warm, downy coats. Along with a transition of fashion comes a change in beauty and styling as well – colours tend to be less bronzy and bright, and fashionistas appreciate a nice darker lip to complement the now more earthy hues of their fall outfits. This year especially, the earthy-brown and muted tones are everywhere due to the ongoing 70’s trend. Enough rambling, let me show you my personal favorite five lipsticks (oops, one of them is a sneaky gloss) for the falltime![line]Shhh: If you scroll down to the end, you can even see one of them in action with a 70’s friendly fashion look – from me, to you! Enjoy![line]
Although I rarely wear lipgloss, I enjoy this one very much. It’s not sticky – It looks sheer if you just want to apply a quick, light wash of colour, but you can amp it up if you want and you’ll get a vibrant, opaque look.
This is the most luxurious of the bunch; And you feel it, too! The Rouge Pure Shine is the glossiest of these 5 lipsticks, and it has a very flattering berry-red colour that will make your teeth look whiter than ever. Even though it’s creamy in application, as long as you’re not touching it with your fingers, this will stay put no matter what.
This lipstick is a lot cooler in tone than Chili, and it is a lustre finish, which means that it is semi-glossy. While it’s amazingly pigmented, it applies like a balm and feels creamy on your lips. Even as it fades, it leaves a nice stain wherever applied.
This matte lipstick is perfect for recreating that 90’s Grunge trend that has been going on, but in an ever so slightly darker, fall-friendly version. Despite the matte formula, it is very comfortable to wear, and the longevity of this on your lips with better colour is a big plus.
Another matte Mac lipstick! But don’t be fooled – there’s a difference to the previous one. Chili is a rusty red that is warm in tone, which is great when you want to dip your toes in the pool of earth-tones on your lips.
