The VRAI Magazine Team is proud to welcome its newest member — Creative Director, Mary Jo “MJ” Cadiz. Get to know more about her and her story…
[dropcap] I[/dropcap] am a graphic designer, art director, illustrator and mother of 3 very active teenagers. Having been born and raised in Chicago, I had the museums, beautiful lakefront and the city’s architecture all within a bus ride from where I grew up. Even though I have since moved to the suburbs, the Chicago’s Art Institute is my sanctuary were I go for inspiration and to remind myself of why I fell in love with art in the first place.
Art and design has always been my passion, which I apply to my work and personal life. I hand-made my children’s birth announcements and birthday invitations before ordering them online became the trend. Since I was a kid, I loved to draw and would make up stories with my drawings. My mother would often catch me talking to myself while I brought the images in my head to life on paper.

And when I convey the same curiosity and wonder in the reader, then I know I’ve done my job as a designer.
I’m excited to be a part of the team and look forward to being a part of an amazing journey of discovery, sharing and creativity that is VRAI Magazine.
